The main importance of World Nutrition Day is to spread awareness about the importance of good nutrition. The United Nations has already announced the period of 2016-2025 as the ‘Decade of Action’ on Nutrition.
The Government of India initiated POSHAN Abhiyaan in March 2018 to enhance the nutritional condition of the children and women of the country.
